What happens if I exceed my plan limits?
We believe reaching your current plan's limits shouldn't stop your users from being able to signup for your campaign. Your campaign shouldn't have to be interrupted just because you missed to upgrade to a higher plan immediately. Prefinery's plans and pricing is what separates us from our competitors.
Free Trial
With all of the current Prefinery plans (Lite, Essentials, and Pro), you can get started with a free 14-day trial to test out all of that plan's features.
Do note that this trial will only allow you to have up to 100 users and send up to 200 emails. This still should allow you decent headroom for testing.
When the user limit (100) is reached, you'll be notified, and:
- Excess users will be hidden until you start the subscription. Only the latest 100 users will be accessible through the dashboard UI.
- Emails will not be triggered nor sent to newer users past the limit.
When the email limit (200) is reached, you'll be notified, and:
- Emails after the 200th one will not be queued nor sent - this means, as an example, that if you have double opt-in enabled the opt-in confirmation email will no longer be sent to the user which may cause them to remain in the "unconfirmed" status.
The free trial is a great way to see if Prefinery fits your use case, or to set everything up. When you're ready to launch though even before your free trial expires, we highly recommend that you start the paid subscription to avoid these limitations.
Current Plans
Once you've started your subscription to any plan (after the trial, which you can also end prematurely), you won't have to worry about reaching your plan limits as they all support overage billing, which is automatically applied when the plan's base limit for number of users is exceeded.
Unlimited emails are also automatically enabled with any of these plans.
Legacy Plans
For accounts on legacy plans (Starter, Growth and Business), there may be areas in your campaign that can get affected when your reach your current plan's limit which can vary depending on your subscription.
Starter & Growth Plans
For either plans, when the subscriber limit is reached:
- Excess users will be hidden until you change your subscription to any of the new plans that allows for overage pricing.
- Emails will not be triggered nor sent to newer users past the limit. This includes opt-in emails not being sent if you have double opt-in enabled.
- Webhooks will not be triggered nor sent to newer users past the limit. This can affect any integrations that you have setup using our webhooks or via a 3rd party partner, like Zapier.
Business Plan
The Business Plan automatically scales beyond the plan's soft limit (25,000 users) up to 1M users via overage charges (see the "legacy Business plan" table on that page).
